Brilliant Fool is a Follower Card. It is encountered during normal gameplay and must be recruited to take effect. When burned in Combat or Perils, it always produces a Sun die (unless Shimmer Shield or Call of the Worm are in effect, in which case it would produce a Shield or Rot die instead).

You? A hero?! Okay, um... that's a lot of pressure, but I think I can-- What's a hero?

Availability[]
Brilliant Fool can be found by searching Dungeons or completing Quests. It can also be stolen from another Hero's hand if Glamour or Wandering Circus are applied, or stolen from their Shelf via Bribery. If the Hero encounters and fails the peril Beheaded, Brilliant Fool can possibly be killed. (If it is your only recruited Follower, it will be killed.)
As all Followers are considered Unique, this card does not have a higher or lower draw chance in Dungeon exploration than any other Follower card.
Behavior & Strategy[]
This card plays out like any normal Follower Card. Brilliant Fool (as explained) will provide the Hero with two extra Dice in Perils, giving that Hero a major advantage in sticky situations. Brilliant Fool is one of the best cards to have when attempting to achieve "Folk Hero" on Steam; it will make overcoming those ten perils much easier and faster, especially for Mercurio or another Hero with enhanced Wits.
Brilliant Fool is best paired with the Bard Follower. Bard provides prestige for each escaped Peril, and with Brilliant Fool increasing your chance of success, you can farm prestige easily and quickly. This strategy will give yourself a well-deserved upper hand in terms of Armellian politics.
Trivia[]
- Brilliant Fool is the Follower equivalent to two Adventurer's Kits.
- Brilliant Fool is one of the few Followers to be given a cameo in the Prologue of Armello.
