The Armellian dice have been a part of Armello’s culture for as far back as anyone can remember. The dice, covered in the symbols known simply as 'The Six', are used as a measure for divination, adjudication, magic practices and more commonly, games and gambling. Many Armellians possess a set of these dice and will carry them with them wherever they go.
The universe of Armello is governed by raw natural elements of opposites and cycles; Moon & Sun, Sword & Shield, Worm & Wyld. These symbols adorn the Armellian dice on its opposing faces. Each Card in Armello also has one of 'The Six' symbols in its top right hand corner. [1]
Rolling Dice[]
Combat[]
The situation in which you will most often be rolling dice is combat. The following will break down how the symbols affect the outcomes of combat:

Perils[]
- Main article: Perils
When rolling dice in perils, you'll be expected to match your dice symbols to the symbols needed to escape the situation. Wylds will function the same in this case as in combat, granting you an additional roll (even if there are no Wyld symbols to match on the peril). If you are corrupted, as in battle, Rots will function like Wylds instead.
The Six Symbols (Lore)[]
Sword[]
The inclusion of the sword in the symbol set serves as a constant reminder that Armello is a place of conflict. That even when one is resting and there is peace, the need to take up arms may occur. Armello is a dangerous and merciless place. Armellians will call upon the strength of the sword when they must fight for whatever reason.
Shield[]
The shield is a sign of enduring resilience and protection. Armellians will invoke the shield when looking for comfort or in order to ward off bad luck or danger. Under the symbol of the shield, it is said that no harm can come to you.
Sun[]
The sign of dawn, of the light, of growth and clarity. The sun plays against the duality of the moon symbol in removing danger and providing one with a light forward. It can be seen as cleansing too, as the creatures that walk the night disappear when the sun appears.
Moon[]
The moon is a mysterious sign. Armello comes to life at night. The magical and mysterious glows, creatures, lights and sounds all play on our greatest terrors, however the wyld is strongest under the moon’s glow and so this symbol is a popular one amongst the spirit-strong. A sacred symbol for many of Armello’s nocturnal inhabitants.
Wyld[]
The image of the Wyld Tree is perhaps the most famous in all of Armello. Perhaps even more so than the image of the King . This great tree, located in the heart of the Bear Clan capital is perhaps the holiest of sites for Armellians - especially the Bear Clan - and a place of immense power. This symbol signifies all that is magical about Armello.
Worm[]
In Armellian culture, nature plays a big part. However, you can’t have nature without death. The entire cycle of nature is covered and the worm, the creature that feasts on death itself, is the very symbol of this. The worm is also synonymous with the Rot and thus carries a terrible omen.
Dice Skins[]
Listed here are the many different types of Armello Dice Skins, their description, and rarity. Rarity is based on the description put out by the developers, falling under either Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, or Legendary. If the rarity has not officially been released, it will read Undetermined. The Classic Dice are an exception to this rule, as their rarity is set to Default.
Common Dice are the most likely to be received when opening a chest. These dice are typically plainer than the other rarities, and have thus far never had any accompanying particle effects. Uncommon Dice are the second most commonly found, with slightly more eye-catching graphics but still lacking in terms of particles. Rare Dice are far more unlikely to be stumbled upon, and it will often take several chests to find them, though they have been reported to pop up on first chests. Rare Dice are almost always accompanied by particle effects (not unlike the Spirit Solstice Dice) but if not, they will usually have more intricate textures (as is the case of the Boulder's Might Dice). Dice under the category of Epic or Legendary (Ancient's Gambit Dice, Heart's Fire Dice, etc.) will be the most difficult to obtain through fair means, though they will often be sold for hefty prices on the Steam marketplace. They are often far more visually appealing than other dice, with arguably more beautiful or evil-looking particle effects, depending on the collection. Dice with the Legendary label are the rarest of the set.
Transmogrifiable dice can be combined to create skins, resulting in dice that are one level higher in rank than those you used. (For example, combining a certain number of Uncommon dice will spawn one Rare skin.)
Dice Skins can be changed on the starting screen. Clicking on the dice preview next to the letters "Choose Dice" will change the skin. They can also be chosen from the inventory screen by clicking on said skin and pressing "equip".

The Classic Dice serve as the default or "Classic" Dice Skins of Armello. They are mostly a textured dark grayish blue color, but the symbols are lined with faded white and the four corners of each side are decorated with light-gray symbols. |

The Strange Dice were unlockable content available from February 17th (the day Version 1.2- otherwise known as The Stranger- of Armello was released) to February 24th. Similar to the Winter Dice a few months prior, players had to play public multiplayer games to the end in order to win a pair of Strange Dice. Unlike the Winter Dice, however, the Strange Dice were obtainable within 1-2 games and extras within 3-6 , making them slightly less desirable on the Steam Marketplace. Described as chunks of meat, the Strange Dice are pinkish squares with red symbols. Each die radiates eerie blue mist. They are currently being sold on Steam for $1.31 and lower.[2] |

The Winter Dice were unlockable content available from December 21st, 2015, to December 31st. They became available again on December 22nd, 2016, until January 5th of 2017. For a chance at receiving some, players had to play (not win) public multiplayer games to the end. The Winter Dice were very difficult to unlock, some reporting up to 15 games without ever even glimpsing these mysterious skins. These dice are frosty and blue with bright glowing symbols, and when rolled, create a cascade of ice all over the screen. They were originally being sold on Steam for quite the sum, their difficulty to obtain boosting the price, but the desirability has since dropped after their second holiday appearance.[3] |

The Early Access Dice (Sometimes shortened to EA Dice) are smooth, black-and-white cubes awarded only to those who played Armello before it's official release. These dice are slightly sharper in shape and plainer in texture than the Classic Dice, and the symbols are pure white. Considering the fact that several people played Armello in Early Access, these dice are unusual but not as rare as Backer Dice. Early Access Dice are not available for distribution through the Steam Marketplace. |

The Geek Dice (also known as PAX Dice[5][6]) are perhaps the rarest of all. Geek Dice are exclusive to those who have met someone on the LoG team in person, usually at Gaming Conventions like PAX and E3. Those lucky enough are given unique codes that can be activated on Steam, and (like the Kickstarter Dice) it is considered a great honor to own Geek Dice. The Geek Dice look very similar to the Early Access Dice, but while those dice symbols are plain, each of the symbols on the Geek Dice glow a unique color. The Geek Dice are not available for distribution through the Steam Marketplace. |
